Giving
Why we give?
We’re committed to building God’s kingdom together – sharing that burden together includes financial giving. Jesus spoke more on the issue of money than on heaven and hell combined. He indicated that where we place our financial wealth, our heart will follow (Matthew 6:21).
Giving is a recognition that all we have is God’s (1 Chronicles 29:14), and an overflow of thanks for all He’s done. As part of our worship we put God first in all things – including money. The New Testament builds on the Old Testament principle of the “tithe”, and may be summed up in two words “generosity encouraged”.
How is the money used?
Whether put in the Sunday offering basket, or given by standing order, money given to The Well Church goes mainly to our work here in
Loughborough. We also make sure we’re a generous church, supporting local & global projects and other needs as they arise. These include the work of Catalyst (New Frontiers), the worldwide family of churches, of which we are part.
We regularly report on our finances. In January each year we share how money was spent in the previous year before sharing the vision for the coming year.
